Habits of Mind

Habits of Mind Summary

We use our 16 Habits of Mind to learn more effectively and to interact with others in our environment positively.  Check out our new page explaining them.

This week we are focussing on Managing Impulsivity in order to remember our best manners.  In our poem books there is a poem that summarises Habits of Mind; and a Y-Chart that shows what we think Managing Impulsivity looks like, sounds like, and feels like.

This week we will work on:

1.  Picking up our belongings and putting them in the right place.
2.  Speaking nicely to each other.
3.  Keeping our arms and legs to ourselves.
4.  Listening to the teacher or our buddies to help us learn.
5.  Focussing on our tasks and completing them to a high standard.
6.  Reminding our friends in the playground to speak and play nicely.

Learning Conferences

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Learning Conference this evening.  I understand children have other commitments after school but if you would like to come in at another time you are most welcome.  You don't need an appointment as the children will be leading the sharing session with you.  Come before or after school anytime.
