Ako - Teaching with and Learning from each other
We had such a busy term with interesting activities.....here are some catch up posts!
Room 6 children were working on prodedural writing - how to make a sonobe unit. We got together and they taught us (Mrs Jensen included) how to make a sonobe unit. Children were very pleased with their new knowledge and skills in origami.

Potato Growth
We are very excited with the growth our potatoes are showing. We covered the new growth with more soil so that we get lots of potatoes.

Growing Potatoes
We planted potatoes in a bucket.
First of all we needed to put holes in the bottom to make sure the potatoes did not get too much water and rot.
Next we put soil in the bucket to one third of the way up.
We pushed the seed potato in until it was covered by 1cm soil.
Then we watered them.
To look after them we will need to water every 3 or 4 days to keep the soil damp (not wet and not dry). They will also need sunshine each day and to be protected from frosts. We bring them inside each night.
Here are some photos of us planting our potatoes.
